Application
AAC wire is suitable for spans on wooden poles, transmission towers and other structures that do not require high tensile strength. Applications range from extra-high voltage (EHV) transmission lines to secondary service spans for distribution or use voltages in private locations.
AAC conductor cables are mainly used in urban areas where the spacing is short and the support points are close together. All aluminum conductors consist of one or more aluminum wires, depending on the end use. AAC is also widely used in coastal areas because it is highly resistant to corrosion. Concentric stranded aluminum conductor (AAC) is made of hard drawn aluminum wire (HDA conductor).
